With a base 30 km long and 15 km wide volcano, Kartala reaches 2361 meters above sea level. It is a beautiful place where scientists do in-depth research. According to a legend, King Solomon and Queen Bilqis of Sheba spent their honeymoon on the island of Ngazidja. When they climbed the Karthala volcano the queen threw her ring into the crater, promising to return one day to this beautiful and lunar landscape.</p>
