<p style="text-align:justify">Le lac Hantsongoma, un petit lac de cratère permanent situé à 950 m d’altitude au pied nord du Karthala, entre les montagnes de Bahani dans la région d'Itsandra vers Irohé dans la région de Wachili.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify">Il s’agit du versant nord-est de la forêt du Karthala. Il est situé à 1.060 m d’altitude avec un périmètre de 800 m et une profondeur maximum de 2 en 2002,. En 2010 le périmètre était de 285 m avec une profondeur de 1 m. Il est localisé entre la forêt humide vers l’ouest de moyenne altitude dégradée, et la forêt sèche vers l’est en partie et écrémée en autre Il constitue la seule étendue d’eau douce de l’île de Ngazidja.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Lake Hantsongoma, a small permanent crater lake, is located at 950 m above sea level at the northern foot of Karthala, between the mountains of Bahani in the Itsandra region and Irohé in the Wachili region.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify">This is the northeastern slope of the Karthala forest. The lake is located at an altitude of 1,060 m, and in 2002 had a perimeter of 800 m and a maximum depth of 2 m. In 2010, the perimeter was 285 m with a depth of 1 m. It is located between the humid forest to the west, and the dry forest to the east. It is the only freshwater lake on the island of Ngazidja.</p>
